Something Old, Something New

Some of you may recall a blog I wrote a while back concerning an estranged friend. It was clear in my writing that I was still angry, after years of hurt, confusion, and questions gone unanswered. At that time, I was convinced that I would not give the time of day to this person, not again in this lifetime.

However, about a month ago I received a note from her. A note of apology. A number of conversations later we are on our way back towards friendship. Something I never thought possible. I am still bewildered by how far a heartfelt, truthful apology can go. If someone had told me prior to this that I would forgive her someday, I would have laughed in their face.

Well, I am not laughing... I am smiling. I have decided that forgiveness is better than carrying the burden of anger any longer. Something big has been lifted from me, and for that I am grateful. And to top it off, I may have gained a friend... an old friend in a new way.

In some way, this seems to make the story less heroic, less riveting. However, in the end, all are well; Pineapple (aka Jack) and his family. That's always a good thing.

ComfortaCarbs

Carbohydrates. They're like a ginormous hug for the body. An inner hug. I've been craving carbs like mad lately, maybe in an effort to make my insides happy. My favorite feel-good meal is Mac & Cheese, yum. Or maybe Serum's potato soup. Anyway, it's working.

And it's a good thing I've found my own remedy to use. All of the tests done thus far have come back normal. It is a relief that we're able to rule out some of the possibilities, but there are so many more avenues to try.

I've had a happy weekend at home, wonderful Bird QT, and a filled up, warm tummy.

Soderama

Having a nice big yard was our first reason for moving out to Z-town and after a little over 3 years since the big move, we finally have it! I couldn't be happier about this.

Thank you to everyone who helped us with this considerable project (although I know they're not all avid LL readers). It literally would not have been possible without the help we received from family and friends. And not only did they provide excellent help, they made the day a much more momentous one for us.

BigCat finally has a happy wifey with her long awaited lawn. I'm feeling revived and much less overwhelmed by the yard tasks up next. I think the following projects will be more fun and rewarding. It's amazing the difference a zillion green blades of grass make... check it out!!

Happy BIRDday!

I can not believe that my baby is one already. Everyday he is more and more a little boy. No one told me it was going to go this fast!!!

All of his wonderful grandparents came over on Saturday to celebrate. He was in all his glory. I never knew you could really tell when a one-year-old is having the time of his life, but it was so apparent he was. It was such a fun and special day for all of us.

This is just the beginning...

New computer, new pictures, new hobby. Gotta love it.

I finally got my new computer!! I had some anxiety after picking it up yesterday about what it was going to be like to get it up and running. After my experiences with my last computers (albeit one was a dinosaur and one older than average), I was not looking forward to it. I dug everything out of the boxes last night after getting The Bird down, and started in. I didn't have much motivation though and definitely wasn't in the mood to chat with the Saturday night techs, so I went to bed with with thoughts of notebooks in my head. Well, this morning I called up one single tech with DSL and we had it wireless within minutes. I could not have started this day off any better. :)

If I didn't have so terribly much on my plate today, I'd probably play around for the remainder of it and get a bunch of pictures uploaded. However, I'm thinking I'll squeeze some time in for that anyway... maybe some of that other stuff could wait a bit.
