I feel like I've been a bit of a blog slacker lately, for that I apologize. Life has been feeling a bit hectic lately, which actually affords me many blog thoughts each day. Neglected blog... yes, but not forgotten. Birthday and Halloween parties, a wedding, planting, visiting, and lots of time spent with a busy little Bird have all taken part in this fall zipping right on by. As the snow flew today, I realized this was exactly what has happened.
Tonight I'm especially excited about something that most people may find dull... Quicken. I try to remain on top of finances and have many systems in place, but that's just it, there are many systems. I've started the process and am so pumped about what this software is going to help me do. Is it just me?? A program to help with the checking account, bills, taxes... is a delight?? Ahhh... love is in the crisp air.
Some banana bread and photos to get us all caught up. What's that, you didn't get any bread?? Well, enjoy the photos.

Family Pic
It seems rare these days that we get a family picture, let alone a decent one. Last Thursday, the family enjoyed a delicious dinner out at Benihana. To some's dismay, I announced to our waitress that we were celebrating a birthday or two, and lo and behold they were presented with ice cream and a Polaroid picture. This was our end result.

We had a busy weekend which included some more birthday celebrations with my momma. So many good meals, card playing, and fun. BigCat had been set all week prior on "dominating" in a 500 tourney, and he did just that. He left with a large bag of trail mix but an even larger head... oops, I mean smile.
Mom, I hope you continue to live up and enjoy what's left of your birthday month! I am so happy we were able to make it up this weekend.

October Ninth

Happy Birthday, BigBro. I know life has thrown you a curve ball, but I also know you're really good at hitting the ball... especially when it counts. You have a lot of people behind you and here for you on your birthday, and always. I hope you have contentment and whatever else you need on this birthday. Lots of love ~ LilSis

ComfortaCarbs
Carbohydrates. They're like a ginormous hug for the body. An inner hug. I've been craving carbs like mad lately, maybe in an effort to make my insides happy. My favorite feel-good meal is Mac & Cheese, yum. Or maybe Serum's potato soup. Anyway, it's working.
And it's a good thing I've found my own remedy to use. All of the tests done thus far have come back normal. It is a relief that we're able to rule out some of the possibilities, but there are so many more avenues to try.
I've had a happy weekend at home, wonderful Bird QT, and a filled up, warm tummy.

A Piece of Prayer
With the world as it is today, I know that many people, probably all, are in need of prayers. The agenda each night before sleep seems to be getting longer by day.
For the last two and a half months or so, I've been feeling under the weather. I've had abdominal pain, or more of a discomfort, a distressing nuisance. The problem is that it is almost non-stop and has recently been accompanied with nausea. I have been doctoring, but that is a whole lot of 'hurry up, and wait'. I have a few tests underway and if nothing turns up with these, we will continue to search for answers.
At this point, it seems to be a guessing and testing game; it could be one of many different things. Although I look just fine from the outside, this is affecting me on so many different levels. I ask anyone willing, to put me in as a piece of their prayers.

A Day Late and A Comma Short
I would guess most of you are not aware that yesterday was National Punctuation Day Dont believe me check it out www dot nationalpunctuationday dot com I had no idea until a friend at work sent me the link because she thought of me I wasnt sure exactly why it triggered thoughts of me however I know I really like to use commas ellipsis and the like to get my point across as close to the way I would speak it So for a gift on National Punctuation Day a day late I have decided to give all punctuations a day off or at least a blog off It is one of those things we may take for granted and maybe a day without will remind us that sometimes too much is better than too little

Soderama
Having a nice big yard was our first reason for moving out to Z-town and after a little over 3 years since the big move, we finally have it! I couldn't be happier about this.
Thank you to everyone who helped us with this considerable project (although I know they're not all avid LL readers). It literally would not have been possible without the help we received from family and friends. And not only did they provide excellent help, they made the day a much more momentous one for us.
BigCat finally has a happy wifey with her long awaited lawn. I'm feeling revived and much less overwhelmed by the yard tasks up next. I think the following projects will be more fun and rewarding. It's amazing the difference a zillion green blades of grass make... check it out!!
