Crazy or Prepared?

I started my vacation list today with 46 days and counting. All this really entailed was copying my list over from last year and making adjustments, but it makes the week seem that much closer. I wiped out the line that states "bottles" {{sh whew}} and many other items of the sort. This year, we'll be stocking up on sand toys instead. Way more fun.

If it's not written on the list, there's a super chance I'll forget it. BigCat says that people like me are the first to lose our minds... Writing a list takes the mental portion out of remembering. For now, I figure I'm making up for those mind strengthening exercises elsewhere, but I don't doubt his forecast. But no matter what, I'll always make lists. For everything. Without lists, I am crazy.

Star Points

Sometimes, a list is the easiest way to catch-up.

* Bubba is on the mend, but still not 100%. Now two other lil' boys at daycare are sick with the same ultra-contagious infection.
* Oh, did I mention... BigCat and I also got the virus that started it all??
* The abdominal pain is.still.here. Such high hopes I had before the procedure, and again post-stent-removal for a pain-free future. Hopefully the next meeting with my doctor (in two weeks) will turn another light on at the end of this dark tunnel.
* After careful consideration and a chat with BigCat, I have opted to complete the 3-Day in an upcoming year instead of this one. Largely because of: the above listed pain uncertainty and the initiation of a Graduate college career. It's a bit much on top of wifing, momming, working, etc. I do pledge to experience this amazing journey in my lifetime.
* My books have been delivered, paperwork completed and excitement put in check - school starts on Tuesday!!

Life Haps

Over the last few weeks, along with my surgery, there were some other life happenings; changes made, goals set. Obviously, I had very high expectations of becoming well.

I:

* Joined - Anytime Fitness. Remember, way back when, when I was running?!?! I haven't been exercising with the SOD factor. It's been a long, long while and I'm very excited to start a regimen again.

* Registered - For the 2009 Breast Cancer 3-Day. I feel like I'm going to be taking part in something HUGE. Something outside of my personal box. I intend for this to be one of my greatest life experiences.

* Purchased - A new cell phone. Except it's hardly a cell phone - it's a palm pilot, mp3, camera, radio, texting, surfing, amazing device. It's going to take me a year to learn its ins and outs.

* Enrolled - in school. The thought of obtaining my MBA has been with me for years... and now I'm going for it and can hardly believe it. I am so excited! Beginning March 17th, I will officially be a student again. In the past, I hesitated with a program being entirely online, however, it is the only schooling that suits my life, so I am grateful to be able to do so.

I am looking forward to this year being full of challenge, growth and excitement!

Beautiful Birthday

It was not a usual day, it was a special day, just as it should be.

DMV~nothing like waiting until the last minute to renew, but I only had to wait 10 minutes.
Breakfast with Mom~Consensus: one of the best breakfasts ever, both food (3 Squares) and company (it began with us discovering that my mom woke last night at the same moment I was praying, thanking her for life... this was all at my exact birthTIME).
A bit of shopping~found a fun store in MG, can't wait to go back (Lavish)
Massage~enough said... except I was also given a gift bag with some of my favorite Aveda products (after mentioning I was celebrating).
Home-to many birthday wishes~cards, calls, texts, emails... gotta love the love!
Nap~I debated sleeping mid-birthday - you never know how many you'll have - but the nap won and it sure felt good.
My Boys~some QT accompanied with pizza and cake.

Days do not come a whole lot better than this. I am so thankful for my life and everyone in it. I am truly blessed. Here's to year 29!!

Whew! Week

In case you're missing me in the next week, I want you to know why. You haven't been forgotten, I'm just uber-busy!

* Friday, 1/30 - Dinner, drinks and games with family friends
* Saturday, 1/31 - 'Dirty 30' birthday party for a friend
* Sunday, 2/1 - Superbowl... 43??
* Monday, 2/2 - Dinner with all, or most, of my girls
* Tuesday, 2/3 - A couple of my dearest friends are taking me out for my birthday
* Wednesday, 2/4 - Lunch with the ladies
* Thursday, 2/5 - So far, NOTHING!
* Friday, 2/6 - OSP Outing... It's with a few gals who all worked at the Office of Sponsored Programs at SCSU. BigCat refers to this as my Old St. Cloud People outing. And no, he doesn't mean old in age, just former! We'll eat lots of appy's and enjoy drinks for about 8 hours in a booth at Houli's!
* Saturday, 2/7 - Dinner with that old friend... definitely have a bit of anxiety about this one
* Sunday, 2/8 - Birthday celebration at D&B's with my families!

Thank goodness I have all this happy to look forward to. Today is the start of my incredibly busy and stressful work week. In fact, I'm even working every day next week. Yikes!

Although I may not visit Blogland, it's a comfort to know it's there for me if I need it. It is an amazing relief for me to write... so I may just find my way here at some point.

Happy Weekend!!!!! :-)

If I had more hours today...

I would:

clean house
finish book
wash car
fertilize baby shrubs and trees
organize
go for lake walk
balance checkbook
transplant flowers

But, I don't! I'm okay with knowing that everything will wait patiently for my next spare moment. Pea is fast asleep, and how am I spending my time?? Bloggin'!! It's kind of sad how addicted I am to the Internet. Speaking of which, I do plan to get a new computer in the near future, maybe August, and start a mad career of picture sharing! And as a little cliff-hanger... I'll be posting some pics later today (hopefully) since a disc is waiting for me at Target. For now, off to do some of the things that are in the time allotment, like laundry. It's all better than a day at the office.

List

I love lists, I make one for everything I can think of, so today I'm listing 5 things I'm thankful for (other than the obvious ones like my wonderful family and friends).

* that my daycare provider hasn't called me to pick up Peanut (she informed me this a.m. that she's sick but would keep the kids as long as she didn't develop a temp. being she just had a babe herself, I've missed a decent amount of work because of their appts, etc. don't necessarily want to miss more)

* for work - this even feels odd for me to say, but I am. I absolutely l.o.v.e my Wednesdays off with Peanut, but coming back to work isn't so bad either. I have the perfect schedule. can hardly beat 2 Fridays in a week.

* veggie wraps - a new restaurant opened in the Anoka area and they have my new fave! it's a steamed veggie wrap with havarti cheese... awesome!

* watching Oprah yesterday - it was about her new book choice, A New Earth. I wasn't overly interested in it until yesterday. I learned one tip that I plan to use the rest of my life, to try to lower anxiety, about being in the here and now. It worked like a charm last night, quickly to sleep I fell without a thought on my mind. I may just go get the book now.

* inside work - I'm actually thankful I have plenty to do indoors the next few days. the outdoors are becoming much too depressing!

Life is good.
